René Redzepi, head chef of Noma in Copenhagen, plans to unveil ‘A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s’, as he joins forces with the landmark Mayfair hotel this summer to mark the celebrations of the London Olympics 2012.
Twice voted best restaurant in the world at the 2010 and 2011 ‘World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards’, and recently named one of TIME magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People in the World’, Redzepi has sparked a cultural revolution with his focus on foraging and the reinterpretation of Nordic cuisine.
For ten days, Redzepi will be creating a five course menu at Claridge’s which will reflect his signature flavours and dishes from Noma, using local, seasonal British ingredients.
“We are excited about the opportunity to be part of the celebration of the Olympic Games in London and to work closely with the team at Claridge’s. It is a different set-up from our home field, but we look forward to exploring the bounty of a different part of the world,” Redzepi said.
“This unique dining experience will be the first time the legendary chef will create his ground-breaking vision outside Denmark. The arrival of René and his team marks a true milestone in Claridge’s culinary history, especially during such an exciting time in the capital,” Claridge’s General Manager Thomas Kochs said.
“As London welcomes the best of the best from around the globe this summer, we are proud to make our contribution by bringing the world’s best restaurant to Claridge’s.”
‘A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s’ will be available for both lunch and dinner in Claridge’s Ballroom from 28th July to 6th August 2012. René Redzepi will be in attendance every day together with his team of chefs from Noma. The five course menu is priced at ?195 per person.
