As the Ipad is quickly becoming the appliance based recipe book of choice for most aspiring chefs, local talent has been slow to launch their own apps. Not so for icon Martha Stewart whom, known for decades for her cookie-baking prowess, has just launched Martha Stewart Makes Cookies. This is a new iPad app featuring more than 50 of her well-loved recipes—ranging from classic shortbread to chocolate-chestnut meringues— presented on a “cookie runway” that lets users peruse them all. Martha’s new all-encompassing cookie app includes video tutorials, built-in timers, shopping lists that can be e-mailed to your phone and a glossary of baking tools – it’s recipes and resources in one.
According to Stewart, he app is design for people like herself “ who have been baking forever, and those who are learning to bake for the first time”. She believes that the app is ideal for children, “who are tech savvy and will enjoy using it alongside their parents.” Features of the new app include: -A “cookie runway” that allows users to search through all of the app’s 50+ recipes
